Joseph Young's Dream City
Hollywood was laid out in the 1920s by developer Joseph Young, who planned a complete city from scratch: grand traffic circles, a broad central boulevard running from the ocean to the Everglades, and neighborhoods radiating off it. A century later his bones still hold. Hollywood Boulevard and the circles remain the spine of the city, and for movers they make navigation and meeting points refreshingly simple.
