Do You Need Some Support?
Support Throughout the Transport Process
Support through every step of your shipment.
From the first quote to the final delivery inspection, you are never on your own. Every Ship A Car shipment is handled by a dedicated transport coordinator: one person who books your carrier, tracks your pickup and delivery windows, and answers your questions directly.
Our entire team is based in the United States. When you call (866) 821-4555, you reach a real car shipping specialist, not an overseas call center or a phone tree.
Support starts before you ever book. Call or use the auto transport calculator and a specialist will walk you through open versus enclosed transport, pricing for your route, and realistic pickup windows, with no obligation and nothing to pay up front.
And if something comes up after delivery, we do not disappear. Your coordinator stays reachable for paperwork, insurance questions, and claim support until everything is settled.
Below you will find how support works during a shipment, answers to the questions customers ask most, and guides for preparing your vehicle, protecting it in transit, and getting in touch.
Real people, real answers, from first quote to final delivery
How We Support Your Shipment

A Dedicated Coordinator, Start to Finish
One person handles your shipment from the first quote to the final delivery: booking your carrier, tracking your pickup and delivery windows, and answering your questions directly. No call centers and no being bounced between departments.

Updates While Your Vehicle Is in Transit
Before the truck arrives you receive your driver’s name, phone number, and estimated pickup and delivery times. During transit you can reach your driver or your coordinator any time you want a status update on your vehicle.

Pickup and Delivery Day, Done Right
At pickup, your driver walks the vehicle with you and you both sign a bill of lading documenting its condition. The same inspection happens at delivery: check your vehicle, confirm everything looks good, and sign off to complete the shipment.

Insurance and Damage Claims
Every carrier in our network must carry active cargo insurance: typically $100,000 to $150,000 for open transport and $250,000 to $3,000,000 for enclosed. If anything is not right at delivery, note it on the bill of lading and your coordinator will walk you through the claim.

Billing Without Surprises
You pay nothing up front. Your quote is free, and no payment is due until a qualified carrier is confirmed for your shipment. At delivery you inspect your vehicle before making the final payment, exactly as your transport agreement sets out.

Talk to a Real Person
Our US based team answers the phone Monday to Thursday 9AM to 7PM, Friday 9AM to 6PM, and Saturday 11AM to 3PM EST. Call (866) 821-4555 or use the contact page and we will get right back to you.
Support FAQ
How do I get an update on my shipment?
Call or text your dedicated coordinator, or reach your driver directly: their name and phone number are shared with you before pickup. You can also call (866) 821-4555 any time during business hours.
What happens on pickup day?
Your driver performs a thorough inspection with you and you both sign a bill of lading documenting your vehicle’s condition before it is loaded. Keep your copy: it is the baseline for the delivery inspection.
What if my pickup or delivery date changes?
Transport dates are scheduled as windows rather than exact times, and weather or traffic can shift them. If your plans change, tell your coordinator as early as you can and they will work with the carrier to adjust the schedule.
What should I do if my vehicle arrives with damage?
Inspect the vehicle before making your final payment. If something is not right, note it on the bill of lading, photograph it, and contact your coordinator. The carrier’s cargo insurance covers your vehicle during transit, and we will walk you through the claim process.
When do I actually pay?
Nothing is due when you request a quote or book. Payment starts only once a qualified carrier is confirmed for your shipment, and the remaining balance is handled as set out in your transport agreement, typically at delivery after your inspection.
Can I make changes after I book?
Yes. Contact your coordinator with any change: dates, addresses, or vehicle details. Because you pay nothing until a carrier is confirmed, most adjustments early in the process are simple to make.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we dispatch must carry active cargo insurance, generally $100,000 to $150,000 on open carriers and $250,000 to $3,000,000 on enclosed trailers. Optional Othex zero deductible protection is available for an extra layer of coverage.
How should I prepare my car before pickup?
Clean it so the inspection is accurate, remove personal items and toll tags, leave no more than a quarter tank of gas, and note any existing damage. Our full shipping checklist walks through every step.
