A note on the California numbers: they are middle-of-the-market bands for standard sedans on open carriers from California lanes booked since 2023, as of September 2026, and fuel, season, corridor, and vehicle size all move them. The result from your calculator run is the price we book, and it is firm before dispatch.
The I-5 Spine and the Eastbound Arteries
Four roads do nearly all of California’s auto-transport work: I-5 running the length of the state through Sacramento, the Bay corridor, and LA down to San Diego, and the three eastbound arteries, I-80 over the Sierra toward Chicago, I-40 through the high desert, and I-10 out through Palm Springs to Texas and the Southeast. That map is effectively the price list. Addresses on those corridors get the fastest windows and the sharpest rates; the far north, the Sierra, and desert towns usually mean a wider window or a meet-up at the nearest corridor city.
