Door-to-door Newport car shipping at the end of the island, with naval station families met on Coddington Highway and colonial streets met on Connell Highway.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Newport, the city at the end of the island, where the bridge comes over from Jamestown with its tolls, the colonial streets of the Point and the Hill were laid for carts and hold the shops and the restaurants now, the mansions line Bellevue Avenue above the Cliff Walk, the naval station fills the north end of the harbor behind its gates with the war college and the officer schools, the sailboats fill the harbor from May to October, and the festivals fill the fort and the island for two weekends every summer. The carrier that crosses to the island for your car is licensed and insured, and it has passed our vetting before we hand it the job.
The city sits at the end of an island about forty minutes from I-95, and a carrier reaches it over the bridge from Jamestown or down Route 24. Lots on West Main Road in Middletown, on Connell Highway by the bridge ramps and on Coddington Highway near the base gate give a 75-foot rig the wide pavement it needs, since the truck does not go into the colonial streets or onto the base. The newer grid in the north end takes the truck to the door, a Point or Hill address meets it on Connell Highway, and a Navy family meets it at a lot outside the gate on Coddington, each spot agreed at booking, with the festival weekends and summer bridge traffic setting the hour. We ship cars for Navy families on orders, officer-school students here for a year, summer households, collectors who want enclosed transport to a Bellevue Avenue garage, and retirees settling on the island.
Speak with a coordinator now at (866) 821-4555 for pickup at any address in Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Jamestown, or the Fifth Ward, or request an estimate by email through the quote calculator.
For the routes, seasons and prices that apply off the island, see our Rhode Island car shipping guide.
Carriers do not enter the base, so a Navy family on orders meets the truck at a lot outside the gate on Coddington Highway, fixed when you book, timed to the report date, with a second car on the same order when the family has two.
A loaded rig does not enter the Point or the Hill, so those addresses get a meeting point on Connell Highway or in Middletown fixed when you book, five minutes from the door.
Your lane, vehicle and dates in the quote calculator produce an emailed estimate for an island pickup, and a specialist calls to confirm the Newport price. One coordinator follows the Newport move from that quote to the delivery inspection, whether the car is going to a Navy family or a Bellevue Avenue garage.
Newport prices at the end of the island, forty minutes from I-95. Five things move your number:
Newport sits at the end of Aquidneck Island, about forty minutes from I-95, and the truck reaches it over the toll bridge from Jamestown or down Route 24. The New York, Washington, Charlotte, Naples and Seattle rows below are distance bands, the middle half of what customers paid for moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
The bands describe a sedan on an open trailer: a pickup, a heavy EV or a car that will not run costs more, and an enclosed trailer adds about a third. For the Newport figure on your route, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
Carriers reach the island over this toll bridge from Jamestown or by coming down Route 24.
The war college and the officer schools fill the north end of the harbor, and their cars meet the truck on Coddington.
The colonial streets were laid for carts, and the truck meets them on Connell Highway.
Two weekends every summer fill the fort and the island, and the hand-offs move to Middletown.
Please note: Newport’s figures for New York, Washington, Charlotte, Naples and Seattle reflect what customers paid for moves of comparable length between September 2025 and August 2026. Season, fuel and the vehicle can move the final number, and for your island address a specialist confirms the price we book after the emailed estimate.
