Door-to-door Middlebury car shipping on the college calendar, with Route 7 strip hand-offs south of the village and farm roads met at the highway in mud season.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Middlebury, the Addison County shire town on US-7 between Burlington and Rutland, where Middlebury College holds the hill west of town, Otter Creek drops over its falls behind Main Street, and Route 125 climbs east over Middlebury Gap to the Bread Loaf campus. From the Route 7 strip to the farm roads toward Cornwall, each car goes with a licensed, insured carrier we check before it is given the job.
No interstate reaches Middlebury, but US-7 carries traffic the length of western Vermont, and carriers moving cars along that side of the state use it. The commercial strip on Route 7 south of the village has lots big enough for a 75-foot rig; the village itself does not, with Main Street, Merchants Row and the falls district too tight, the Main Street bridge narrow, and the college roads on the hill off limits to car carriers. Hand-offs happen on the Route 7 strip at a spot agreed when you book, and in mud season the farm roads out toward Cornwall and Weybridge meet the truck at the highway.

For the rest of Vermont, from Addison County farm roads to the I-91 towns, our Vermont car shipping guide covers statewide routes, seasons, and prices.
September and February arrivals and the May departure get pickup windows booked ahead, with a Route 7 hand-off that keeps the truck off the hill.
Carriers running US-7 between Burlington and Rutland come right past the village, so a car on the Route 7 strip loads without a special trip.
Enter the route, the car and the semester dates in the quote calculator, and a Middlebury estimate comes by email before a specialist confirms the price. A single coordinator stays with the move from that first quote through the delivery inspection on the Route 7 strip.
With no interstate reaching Middlebury, carriers come along US-7, which passes through the Addison County shire town between Burlington and Rutland. Five things move your number:
Cars here load on the Route 7 strip south of the village, since the campus roads and the tight downtown blocks keep the truck out. Middlebury's Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles rows are distance bands, showing what customers paid for open-carrier moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
Each of these ranges is for a running sedan on an open carrier loaded on the Route 7 strip. Larger vehicles and cars that will not start cost more than a student's sedan, and an enclosed trailer adds about a third. For a Middlebury price on your own car, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
Panthers have studied on the hill since 1800.
The drop roars right behind Main Street.
The old quarry district now feeds and shops.
Burlington is 35 miles north and Rutland 30 south on the same two-lane.
Please note: Middlebury’s ranges for Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles come from what customers paid for moves of similar distance between September 2025 and August 2026, not from lanes of our own. Season, fuel and the vehicle change the real price, and for a hand-off below the college we book the price a specialist confirms.
