Door-to-door Burlington car shipping on Lake Champlain for medical center hires and students on the hill, with Old North End blocks met on North Avenue.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Burlington, the Queen City on Lake Champlain, where the streets climb a dozen steep blocks from the waterfront to the university on the hill, Church Street runs as a brick pedestrian mall through downtown, the medical center stands at the top of the hill, the Old North End keeps its narrow streets lined with parked cars, the ferry leaves for New York from the foot of King Street, I-89 runs along the east edge with exit 14 at the top of the hill, and mountains rise on both horizons. Before a carrier is assigned to a pickup on the lake or up the hill, we confirm its license and insurance and review its record.
Burlington sits on I-89, the corridor between Boston and the Canadian border, so a carrier on the interstate needs only a few minutes to reach a pickup here. A 75-foot rig loads in the lots along Williston Road by exit 14, on Shelburne Road in the South End, or on Riverside Avenue at the foot of the hill, but it cannot climb the steep blocks or thread the Old North End. The flat grids of the New North End and the South End take the truck to the door; a hill street meets it at the bottom on Riverside or at the top on Williston Road, and an Old North End block meets it on North Avenue, with the spot agreed when you book. We plan moves for medical center residents and new hires with a start date, students at the two colleges on the hill in late August, snowbirds leaving for Florida in October and coming back in April, and parents shipping a car to a son or daughter who moved away, and in winter we leave room for a nor’easter.

From the lakefront to the rest of the state, our Vermont car shipping guide covers statewide routes, the seasons that shape them, and prices.
A loaded rig does not climb the steep blocks between the lake and the campus, so those addresses get a meeting point at the bottom on Riverside or at the top on Williston Road fixed when you book, a few blocks from the door.
Residents, fellows, and hires get a window worked backward from the first day, with the itemized receipt a program or a relocation office asks for.
Enter the route, the vehicle and your dates in the quote calculator, and an estimate for a Burlington pickup by the lake arrives by email before a specialist confirms the price. A single coordinator keeps your order from that quote to the delivery inspection, whether the car leaves the New North End or a hill street near the campus.
Burlington climbs from the Lake Champlain waterfront to the university on the hill, with I-89 along its east edge and exit 14 at the top. Five things move your number:
Cars in the city load at the Williston Road lots by exit 14, on Shelburne Road or on Riverside Avenue, and an Old North End block meets the truck on North Avenue. Burlington's Boston, New York, Washington, Orlando and San Francisco rows show what customers paid for open-carrier moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
Read these as figures for a running sedan on an open trailer, loaded at exit 14 or at the foot of the hill. A pickup, a big SUV, a heavy EV or a car that does not run costs more than a Queen City sedan, and enclosed transport adds about a third. To price your own Burlington move, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
The town climbs from the lake to the campus in a dozen steep blocks, and the truck meets them at the bottom or the top.
The brick mall runs through the middle of downtown, and no truck enters it.
The state’s academic medical center stands at the top of the hill, and its new residents arrive each July.
It crosses the lake to New York from the foot of King Street, and the carriers go around by the bridges.
Please note: Burlington’s ranges for Boston, New York, Washington, Orlando and San Francisco are distance bands from what customers paid for moves of similar length from September 2025 to August 2026. The calculator’s estimate, built on your car, your dates and your street by the lake, comes by email, and a specialist calls to confirm the final figure.
