Door-to-door Colchester car shipping off I-89 exits 16 and 17, with the late-August campus calendar planned and Malletts Bay camps met on Lakeshore Drive.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Colchester, the town north of Burlington where I-89 runs through with two exits, the bay fills the west side with camps around its shore that became year-round houses, the causeway runs out across the lake toward the islands, the college on the old fort grounds fills every late August, the Roosevelt Highway carries the traffic to the islands and Canada, and Burlington is ten minutes south. Whether the hand-off is on Lakeshore Drive or near the old fort, the car is entrusted only to a licensed, insured carrier we vetted before giving it the job.
Colchester lies along I-89 just north of Burlington, with exits 16 and 17 inside the town, so a carrier on the interstate reaches it without a detour. A 75-foot rig loads at the lots along the Roosevelt Highway near exit 16, on Route 2 by exit 17, or on Blakely Road above the bay. Away from the water, the grid streets take the truck to the door; a camp lane around Malletts Bay with a tight turn at the water meets it on Lakeshore Drive or Blakely Road, and a campus address meets it just off the college grounds, all agreed when you book. We plan moves for students at the college in late August, families relocating from Burlington for a yard and the schools, bay camp owners, and snowbirds heading south in October, and in winter we allow for the occasional nor’easter.
Speak with a coordinator now at (866) 821-4555 for pickup at any address in Colchester, Malletts Bay, Fort Ethan Allen, Milton, or Winooski, or request an estimate by email through the quote calculator.
For routes, seasons, and prices beyond Malletts Bay and the road to the islands, see our Vermont car shipping guide.
A 75-foot rig does not run the camp lanes around the bay, so a shore address gets a meeting point on Lakeshore Drive or Blakely Road fixed when you book, a minute or two from the door.
A parent books, a student meets the truck; late August and May are the crowded weeks on the old fort grounds, and a hand-off spot off the campus grid is fixed when you book.
Whether the car is coming off a camp road on the bay or out of a college lot, put the route, the vehicle and your dates into the quote calculator for an emailed estimate, and a specialist calls to confirm the price. One coordinator stays on your Colchester move from that quote until the car is inspected at delivery.
Colchester lies ten minutes north of Burlington, with I-89 exits 16 and 17 inside the town and Malletts Bay along its west side. Five things move your number:
Cars here load in the lots by exits 16 and 17 or on Blakely Road, and the camp lanes around the bay meet the truck on Lakeshore Drive. Colchester's New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Tampa and Los Angeles rows are distance bands: what customers paid for open-carrier moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
These planning figures assume a running sedan on an open trailer, met on the Roosevelt Highway or up at the bay. A pickup truck, a large SUV or a car that will not start costs more than a sedan from the bay, and enclosed transport adds about a third. For your own Colchester price, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
The camps around Malletts Bay became year-round houses, and their lanes meet the truck on the road.
The old rail bed runs out across the lake toward the islands, and the bikes take it now.
The college sits on the old parade grounds, and late August is the crowded week.
I-89 runs through town with exits 16 and 17, so a carrier on the interstate is only minutes from a pickup here.
Please note: Colchester’s figures for New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Tampa and Los Angeles come from what customers paid for open-carrier moves of similar distance between September 2025 and August 2026. Season, fuel and the vehicle move the real number, and for a pickup at exit 16 or 17 a specialist confirms the price by phone after your emailed estimate.
