Nicknamed the Show Me State, Missouri was instituted into the union in 1821 as part of the Missouri Compromise. The state is an important hub of transportation and commerce in early America through the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. The Gateway Arch in St. Louis is a monument to Missouri’s role as the “Gateway to the West.” St. Louis, Missouri, is abode to the Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser beer, and proud to hold the largest beer-producing plant in the country.
Missouri has bounding lines with eight states, most with Tennessee. Iowa stands to the north, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee (en route to the Mississippi River) to the east, Arkansas to the south and Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska to the west. The state capital is Jefferson City. And the state motto is Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto (“The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law”).
Missouri was instituted into the Union in 1821 as a part of the Missouri Compromise. It was nicknamed the “Show Me State," believed to be coined from a speech by Willard Duncan Vandiver, a member of the United States House Committee on Naval Affairs.

The first non-stop single transatlantic flight in history was taken in 1927. It lasted thirty-three and half hours, from May 20th to 21st. Charles Lindbergh took the flight from Long Island to Paris. It was named The Spirit of St. Louis in recognition of the business people who financed its construction in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles Lindbergh’s single-engine plane had a 46-foot wingspan and weighed 2,150 pounds when empty.
The first public kindergarten, Des Peres School, was founded in 1873 in St. Louis.
The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, is the country's tallest manufactured monument, standing at 630 feet. The structure was completed in 1965 and used to honour the city’s importance in settling the west following President Thomas Jefferson’s Louisiana Purchase in 1803.

Auto Transport in Missouri
The auto transport sector in Missouri is booming. Several car shipping companies exist, striving to make a name for themselves. In a bid to do that, some of them employ fraudulent practices, while others do not provide you with sufficient information to guide you properly in your car shipping process.
Here is a guide to point you in the right direction in shipping your car seamlessly, without hassles.
Things to Note in Choosing an Auto Transport Company
It would help to consider the following when searching for a suitable car shipping company.
Reputation
It is crucial properly vet the auto transport companies you are considering. You may make verbal inquiries and conduct some research online and discover what people have to say about the company. This helps identify companies that already have a negative or a less than par record.
Transparency
In choosing an auto transport company, the place of transparency cannot be neglected. Some companies make use of vagueness to lead unsuspecting customers astray. Hence, it is vital that every form of ambiguity is absent from the company and what they tell you. When unclear, ask questions and ensure that all terms, conditions, and offers are clearly stated both verbally and in writing.
Licenses and Insurance
Auto transport companies are required to have specific licenses to operate in Missouri. Engaging the services of a car shipping company that does not have these licenses is a dangerous situation as it puts you and your vehicles at significant risk.
Auto Transport Companies and Transport Pricing
Car shipping companies differ in pricing; however, they are guided by the same factors. These factors include:
Type of Car
The type of car being shipped and its specifications influence the shipping cost. Cars that take up more space and weigh a lot are usually more expensive. Conversely, smaller and less weighty cars cost less to ship.
Suitability of Weather
Not all types of weather are palatable for car shipping. Rain and snow are challenging to drive in, hence transporting vehicles may take more time in this weather and may possibly be more expensive. You may ship your car ahead of time to avoid the increased price due to the weather change.
Accessibility
The accessibility of your location significantly impacts the cost of your shipping. Easily accessible areas do not cost as much as remote areas. If you are located in a remote setting, you can change your pick-up and delivery points to more accessible locations to reduce your car shipping costs.
Distance from Pickup to Drop Off
As could be expected, the longer the distance covered to ship your vehicle, the higher the costs. If you will be shipping your car over long distances and would like to reduce costs, you should factor in the other price determinants.
How to Prepare for Car Shipping
Complete Papers
Certain documents will be required of you by the auto transport company before they ship your car. You should confirm that you have all those documents for the car shipping process. If you discover any of them is unavailable, make arrangements for a replacement ahead of time.
Clean the Vehicle and Take Photographs
It would be best to clean your vehicle, especially on the exterior. This enables you to quickly identify anything different about your car upon delivery. It is also best to take photographs of the car as it provides a good point of reference and comparison in the event of damage. Car shipping companies are liable for damages to any car in their care. These damages, however, do not include mechanical faults.
Declutter
You should remove your personal and valuable items from the vehicle before shipping. Although auto transport companies are held responsible for damages to your car in their care, they are not responsible for any missing items. Hence, confirm that nothing important to you is left in the vehicle. Decluttering also helps shed off some excess weight in the car, reducing the overall shipping costs.
Remove Excess Gas
You only need enough gas in your car to cater for your pick-up and delivery. Any extra fuel only adds to the weight of your vehicle, incurring more costs for you. Hence, it is best to only fill your tank to one-quarter capacity.

Bob was AMAZING! I was in such a bind and had just found out some bad news about my dad’s health. Bob was very understanding and turned my situation into a positive one. He was very quick at responding back to me and very knowledgeable. It put my mind at ease and all I had to do was sit back and wait for my car to come. It took little time to travel from WA to VA and the driver was very nice as well. Bob called to check up on how the delivery went and that in itself was really nice! Showed me he truly cares about his customers! I will definitely be using this service again and have already recommended Bob to a few friends. I can’t thank Bob enough for being a Knowledgeable and caring person!

Never had a better company to transport as I phoned and 2 days later had my car in Branson. May I say that it's like a cut throat racket, as I had many weird, strange, quotes and calls. I was about to give up when my moving company told me of Bob Moran and that is was a 5 star company, and wow they weren't kidding as my car is in Branson waiting for us.

The transport company I chose didn't show up and it was pretty bad. I switched to Ship A Car and I liked their communication. People let me know what's going on and I'm good. When I called to ask about anything, a person was there and responded. He called me to let me know that he had someone to pick up the car. From then on, it was good until delivery. After delivery, I got a follow-up call so it went well.
The transport was from South Carolina to Utah, which was about 2,200 miles. When the car was picked up, it took a couple of days. There were two drivers and they just continually drove. I couldn't believe it. The final rate was what was decided upon. The only thing was the payment was a cash requirement. I had just moved here to Utah and I just opened an account. The money was held because it came from another state so I didn't have cash. That posed a problem on delivery because checks or credit cards weren't accepted. If a credit card were accepted, that would have helped tremendously. Other than that, I would recommend Ship A Car.

Transporting a vehicle is very important so that is why I chose Ship a Car they are rated Number 1. Fernanda was my representative, she was very professional, courteous and her communication was GREAT! She was very helpful with the whole process, she made it a great experience, NO STRESS. And very quick service. My transporter Radu was very courteous and professional, he was able to deliver my car a day early! He notified me a time he would be at my home and then notified me again that he would be 20 minutes later and he was sorry. Then when he arrived he apologized again that he was a little late--GREAT COMMUNICATION. Wonderful people.

Contacted SHIP A CAR and spoke with Steve. He took my order and ensured me that the motorcycle would be picked up by Friday, September 25th. After not receiving a phone call, contacted Steve who said he would let me know and did not. Finally got in touch with the shipping company who then told me it was actually scheduled for Saturday the 26th. The owner contacted me Saturday once the motorcycle was loaded. I was originally quoted four days of travel time to receive the motorcycle. No updates were given during this time. On the 5th day, after 4 hours of trying to reach Steve, the shipping company, or the driver, i was finally informed that the truck was broke down. I was assured it would be repaired by Friday October 2nd (already 3 days behind expected delivery). Monday October 5th, I was told the truck was repaired and the driver was in route. 2 more days of no communication from SHIP A CAR or the shipping company. I was finally able to talk to the shipping company and driver. The motorcycle finally arrived on October 8th. Communication from SHIP A CAR was absolutely horrible. Multiple times i was told “I will check and call you back”, never to receive a call. I understand trucks break down, I feel other arrangements on SHIP A CAR’S part should have been made to receive my motorcycle in a timely manner.
