Door-to-door Richmond car shipping on I-75 south of Lexington, timed to the campus calendar and to closings, with Eastern Bypass meeting points.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Richmond, the Madison County seat half an hour south of Lexington on I-75, where Eastern Kentucky University fills the south side of downtown with its campus and its August, the courthouse and the old Main Street hold the center, the subdivisions have spread out along the bypass toward the interstate, the Kentucky River runs the north edge of the county, and the foothills of the Appalachians begin a few exits south. From a dorm lot near campus or a new street off the bypass, your car goes to a licensed, insured carrier we checked before giving it the assignment.
I-75 runs along the west side of town between the Midwest and Florida, and a 75-foot rig loads in the lots where the Eastern Bypass meets I-75 or by the Lexington Road exit, close to the ramp. Away from campus the truck can usually pull up to the house, while a campus address meets it at a lot off the campus streets and a subdivision still being built meets it at the paved entrance, all agreed when you book. We arrange moves for students arriving in August and leaving in May, parents sending a first car to campus, families closing on new homes along the bypass, and households moving down from Lexington, and from December to February we allow a day of flex for ice.
Speak with a coordinator now at (866) 821-4555 for pickup at any address in Richmond, Berea, Winchester, or Irvine, or request an estimate by email through the quote calculator.
South into the mountains or north past the river, our Kentucky car shipping guide covers the routes, seasons and prices across the state.
A parent can handle the booking while the student meets the driver, and the crowded weeks are August move-in and May commencement, so a meeting spot off the campus streets is set when you book.
New-build buyers along the bypass ship to a closing date that can slip, so we set the window to land after the keys, and if the closing moves, tell your coordinator early so the delivery can be planned around the new date.
Put the route, the car and the dates into the quote calculator and it emails an estimate for a dorm lot or a new street off the bypass, then a specialist phones to confirm the price. A single coordinator handles the order from there until the delivery inspection is signed.
Richmond sits on I-75 half an hour south of Lexington, with the campus on one side of downtown and new streets along the bypass. Here are the five things that set your price:
None of Richmond's five rows is a lane of our own. Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Seattle are distance bands, priced from what customers paid for open-carrier trips of similar length booked between September 2025 and August 2026, and cars load near I-75 on the Eastern Bypass or at a curb on the campus side of town.
Richmond's ranges stand for a sedan that runs, shipped on an open trailer. Pickups and three-row SUVs cost more than a dorm-bound sedan, a car that does not run costs more too, and an enclosed trailer adds about a third. Whether the car is headed to a dorm or a new build, a quote from the quote calculator or from a coordinator at (866) 821-4555 sets the real price. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
The university fills the south side of downtown, and August is its month.
The courthouse and the old storefronts hold the center, with the bypass growth around it.
The Appalachians begin a few exits south, and Berea sits at the edge of them.
Lexington is thirty minutes up I-75, close enough to share its pickup schedule.
Please note: Richmond’s Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Seattle ranges reflect moves of about the same distance that customers booked from September 2025 to August 2026, not lanes of our own. The final price shifts with the season, fuel, the route and the vehicle, so go by the calculator quote for your Madison County address.
