Everything You Need to Know About the State of Alabama (AL)
On December 14, 1819, Alabama became the 22nd state in the United States. A lot has changed since its statehood two hundred years ago. To date, Alabama is the 30th largest by area and the 24th most populous of the U.S. states.
Alabama is nicknamed the Yellowhammer State, after the state bird the Yellowhammer Woodpecker (Northern Flicker). It is also well-known as the “Heart of Dixie” and the “Cotton State”. The state tree is the longleaf pine and the state flower is the camellia. The state motto is ‘We Dare Defend Our Rights’ (Latin: Audemus jura nostra defendere).
Located in the southeastern region of the United States, Alabama is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west with Montgomery as the capital. Birmingham is the largest city by population whereas Huntsville is the largest city by land area. Founded by French colonists in 1702 as the capital of French Louisiana, Mobile is the oldest city in Alabama.
In the year 1919, the city of Enterprise built a monument to the boll weevil in recognition of the destructive insect’s role in saving the county’s economy by encouraging farmers to grow crops that are more lucrative; such as peanuts instead of traditional cotton.
The DeSoto Caverns near the city of Birmingham, which contain a 2,000-year-old Native American burial site, served as a clandestine speakeasy with dancing and gambling during Prohibition.
In 1836, Alabama was the first U.S. state to declare Christmas a legal holiday.
The Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American flying unit in the U.S. military, were trained in Alabama. Their accomplished combat record, including the accumulation of more than 850 medals, was an important factor in President Truman’s decision to desegregate the armed forces in 1948.
In 1965, five months before President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act prohibiting discriminatory voting practices, thousands of non-violent protesters joined a 54-mile Selma to Montgomery march to bring attention to the injustice African Americans faced when attempting to register to vote.
The Saturn V rocket was designed in Huntsville, Alabama. The Saturn V rocket made it possible for humans to land on the moon.
Choosing an Auto Transport Company
Many transport companies offer shipping services to Alabama, however, you must make a well-informed decision to pick the one to meet your needs. The following are tips to guide your decision:
Research the Company Thoroughly
It is better to learn from other people’s experiences than go through a bad one. Get customer reviews about the company you are interested in before paying for their services. Also, check if they have any negative unresolved reviews.
Make Sure the Company has Experience Shipping to Alabama
Every area has regulations that must be followed and unique geographical characteristics. Working with companies who have been in the business for a long time and are familiar with the Alabama area is beneficial. There is no substitute for experience; shipping professionals are better equipped to handle any issues that may arise on the course of the journey to deliver your haul.
The company Must Ensure Safety
The major reason why you are choosing to use a transport company is to protect your vehicle.
For instance, you can simply decide to drive your car to Alabama rather than shipping it in an auto carrier but it’s not worth the wear and tear to your car. It might be cheaper but it’s not worth it in the long run. The auto transport you choose must follow strict safety precautions. Ensure the company you decide to use has a track record of successful deliveries.
Insurance policy
Unpredictable events could happen along the way causing problems. Regardless of the competency of the transport company you decide to use, some situations beyond control such as weather, road hazard, accidents could lead to the damage your vehicle. Get to know about the insurance coverage of the company and precisely what it covers. You can also go the extra mile to purchase extra insurance to cover minor damages and cover your personal insurance deductable for bigger losses. Knowing you have the right insurance put your mind at ease.
Ship a Car Inc has proven over time with its legions of thoroughly satisfied new clients and repeat customers it has the ability and capability to check all the above-mentioned boxes and more.
How Much Money Do you Need to Ship A Car to Alabama?
The overall cost of shipping is dependent on certain factors like:
Distance
Size of vehicle
Type of transport used
Schedule of delivery
Quantity of vehicles you need to transport
The cost of shipping has a wide range depending on the conditions of shipping. The distance between the origin of your car and Alabama influences how much it’ll cost to ship your car. The longer the journey the more expensive the shipping cost will be. Larger cars cost more to transport due to the kind of heavy-duty carriers they’ll need, thus it is relatively cheaper to transport smaller cars.
The major options on the kind of auto carriers are open carrier transport and enclosed carrier transport. If you need more protection for your vehicle, it is better to go for enclosed car transport but have in mind that it is more expensive than the open-air equivalent. The cheapest option would be to ship your car along with other cars in a long open-back trailer but this is only applicable to cars and not heavy machinery.
A flexible delivery schedule would help you get better shipping quotes. However, you would have to pay more to get your delivery expedited.

I had a seamless first-time vehicle transport experience with Ship A Car, inc. I know that is largely because of Bob Moran, the coordinator who helped me. Personable, patient, professional, always willing to answer further questions, he gave me excellent customer service and I greatly appreciate it! I was so nervous and dreading getting started but Bob put me at ease and I quickly gained great confidence in the company because of his easy and knowledgeable communication. In addition, the driver dispatched to move my car from Los Angeles To St Petersburg, Florida was punctual, called when he was supposed to, prior to pickup/delivery, and made great time completing the transport. He picked up Monday around 2 pm and delivered at 9 am on that Friday. I have nothing but praise for Ship A Car, Inc. and enthusiastically recommend them!

I recently hired Ship-a-Car to transport a car cross country. I had used another company several times in the past, but a friend recommended Ship a Car and they were substantially less expensive so I gave them a try. Everything was done as promised without any complications. The car was delivered in good condition. I recommend this company.

We had our car transported from upstate NY, on December 1, 2021, to Vero Beach, FL and back on March 31, 2022. The service was perfect Mr. Moran kept us up-to-date on our drivers time of arrival for pick up and drop off day and time. We have already referred four friends to Ship A Car. We were very pleased with the service and will use them again.

This was my first time using Ship A Car, and overall it was a really good experience. I shipped my Lexus from Manhattan to Michigan. Initially, I was really nervous about sending my vehicle. I went with Ship A Car after reading through some of their positive reviews. The only reason I rated them as a 4 instead of a 5 was because of a $200 price jump. I was informed this might happen due to the delivery destination, but still, extra costs are extra costs. Other than that, I had an excellent experience. They did a really good job with handling my Lexus. The shipment took about 2 days. There was no damage and the vehicle wasn't dirty when I received it. I would recommend them.

We are military and we had to ship our 2nd vehicle from JBPH-Hickman, HI to Seattle, Wa. Using Ship-A-Car Inc was the best decision we could have made. They weren't the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for. Bob walked us through the entire process and he was constantly keeping us updated. We shipped our SUV 30 May 17, left Hawaii the very next day. Coming back stateside, we received some grave news. We had a death in the family. We now had to go on emergency leave, but our SUV was on its way to our new duty station. We had to leave right away and didn't know if we would be back in time for the delivery. Bob was an angel! He coordinated everything from our SUV being pick up at Seattle, Wa to the delivery being held without incurring extra charges on our part (Thank you Aaron!). With everything that was going on, it was refreshing for a change to have someone else watching out for us. He made the entire process easy and painless. We couldn't thank him enough. If we could give him 10 stars, we would. If we had to ship a vehicle again, I know exactly where to go, Ship-A-car Inc.

His customer service let alone human compassion for the things i was or might have been going through was very much appreciated during this huge transition in my life. I would recommend ship a car inc. And ask for Bob!
