The Snowbird Effect, Explained
Florida’s car-shipping market swings twice a year, and pricing follows it. From roughly October through January, demand surges southbound as seasonal residents head for the coasts: carriers fill up, southbound rates firm, and northbound trucks run light. From March through May the flow reverses. What that means for you is simple. Book two to four weeks ahead when you are moving with the crowd, closer to six around the holidays, and enjoy the discount when you are moving against it. September and early October southbound consistently beat the November peak on both price and pickup speed.
