Everything You Need to Know About the State of Wyoming (WY)
Wyoming was the 44th state to join the Union in 1890. It was also the first U.S. state to allow women to vote. This achievement represented one of the early victories of the American women’s suffrage movement. Today, although it is the 10th largest state by area, Wyoming has the smallest populace of all the states, with a little over 550,000 residents. The state is home to most of Yellowstone National Park, one of the most reputable national parks in the country.
On a yearly basis, millions of tourists visit Wyoming to see the geyser Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Spring and a variety of wildlife including moose, elk, bighorn sheep, wolves, coyotes, eagles, black bears, and grizzly bears. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States.
Henry Longabaugh got the nickname “Sundance Kid” after serving time in prison between 1887 and 1889 for stealing a horse in Sundance, Wyoming. He later met Butch Cassidy and joined the notorious Wild Bunch.
On September 2, 1885, a group of white coal miners attacked and murdered 28 of their Chinese colleagues, injured 15 others, and torched 79 of their homes in Rock Springs. None of the culprits were ever sentenced for the brutal massacre. The white miners attributed their anger to the refusal of Chinese miners to join in a strike for better wages. The Chinese workers were also allowed to work in the more lucrative part of the mine based on a decision by the Union Pacific Coal Company.
President Theodore Roosevelt designated Devils Tower (natural rock formation resulting from a volcanic intrusion and a sacred site for many Plains Indians) the first national monument in the United States. on September 24, 1906.

Recently in this state, the railroads are almost all about the coal, compared to other states in the country. This is Powder River Basin (PRB) country and you can actually watch trains follow one another, elephant style, to and from the mines in the region. PRB coal is in so much high demand that combined, BNSF Railway and Union Pacific send out approximately 85 trains a day from mines in Wyoming and Montana.
However, coal is not the only thing Wyoming has to offer even if it seems that way. Union Pacific Railroad’s Overland Route runs through Cheyenne and the railroad also stores its renowned steam locomotives there in the roundhouse, 4-6-6-4 #3985 and 4-8-4 #844.
Wyoming railroads go as far back as the Union Pacific when the railroad reached the state’s eastern fringes in 1862, en route its eventual meeting with the Central Pacific Railroad in May of 1869. The meeting point was Promontory Point, Utah, where the famed Transcontinental Railroad was completed. Interestingly, the state of Wyoming became an important state to Union Pacific as Cheyenne was a major hub where its two eastern main lines converged (and still do). In addition, its mainline to the Pacific Northwest (Idaho, Oregon, and Washington), much of which was controlled by its former subsidiary the Oregon Short Line, diverged from its main route to Los Angeles in western Wyoming. While the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy and Chicago & North Western also have a presence in Wyoming the Equality State was almost entirely, and always has been the realm of Union Pacific.
Interstate 25 goes in to the state south of Cheyenne and runs north, intersecting I-80 immediately west of Cheyenne. It runs through Casper and ends at I-90 close Buffalo. Interstate 80 goes over the Utah border west of Evanston and runs east through the southern third of the state, passing through Cheyenne before entering Nebraska close to Pine Bluffs. I-90 comes into Wyoming near Parkman and cuts through the northeastern part of the state. It serves Gillette and enters South Dakota east of Sundance.
U.S. Routes 14, 16, and the eastern section of the U.S. 20 all have their western terminus at the eastern entrance to Yellowstone National Park and pass through Cody. U.S. 14 runs eastward before joining I-90 at Gillette. It then follows I-90 to the South Dakota border. U.S. 16 and 20 diverge off of U.S. 14 at Greybull and U.S. 16 flows east at Worland while U.S. 20 continues south Shoshoni. U.S. Route 287 carries traffic from Fort Collins, Colorado into Laramie, Wyoming through a pass between the Laramie Mountains and the Medicine Bow Mountains, merges with US 30 and I-80 until it arrives at Rawlins, where it continues north, passing Lander. Outside of Moran, U.S. 287 is part of a large interchange with U.S. Highways 26, 191, and 89, before continuing north to the southern entrance of Yellowstone. U.S. 287 continues north of Yellowstone, but the two sections are divided by the national park.
Other U.S. highways that pass through the state are 18, 26, 30, 85, 87, 89, 189, 191, 212, and 287.
The largest airport in Wyoming is the Jackson Hole Airport, having a staff strength of over 500. There is a list of airports in Wyoming, grouped by type and sorted by location. Some private-use and former airports may be included where notable, such as airports that were previously public-use, those with commercial enplanements recorded by the FAA or airports assigned an IATA airport code.

I'm giving SAC a 1 Star due to the transporter they assigned me (guilty by association).
SAC (itself) were professional and courteous. Unfortunately, if they assign "Dones Auto Transport Inc:" to you, MAKE SURE you refuse them! The driver was nice enough but didn't speak english - per the dispatcher. And the dispatcher was anything but professional. I'm all for supporting small businesses but this husband/wife team were the absolute worse in professionalism and communication! This is why they probably don't have a profile under Google or Yelp!
I was promised 5 star service but received the most bootlegged service ever experienced!

Received a call from the dispatcher "the driver (Javier) is confirmed to pick up my car on Friday (March 25) & would call me 3 hours out."
Friday, March 25
Driver was a no call/no show. Attempted to make contact via text and cell to no avail. Dispatcher finally calls back late afternoon - Driver stuck at DMV all morning renewing his registration & would pick up the car Saturday morning by approximately 8am.
Saturday, March 24:
9 am, No word from driver/dispatcher. Several calls/texts made & at 12.30 pm, dispatcher text's back stating her son had the phone & she didn't realize I called. Almost an hour later I'm told the driver caught a flat but was approximately 45 miles away. 3pm, driver arrives & picks up the car.
Tuesday, March 29
5 pm, dispatcher texts me - driver needs to drop off "tonight" as another driver injured his finger. I asked for a time, she provided a two hour window which I refused due to the inconsistent communication & lack of confidence. She then became obnoxious and even sent me a photo of the injury (see attached - NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH) & demanded I make arrangements for a late drop off. After A LOT of back and forth, she agreed to a Wednesday morning drop off.

The driver makes contact stating he was onsite & unloaded the car only to find out he was at the wrong location. It took him another hour to get to the right destination. Two hours later, I finally got my car.
I know as a broker, there is little SAC can do but this needed to be said!

I had planned to have my Harley picked up about a week in advance. I put down a $200 deposit a guy told me you are good for Saturday. Well Saturday came no one shows up. I call the guy I spoke to about the whole deal... no answer. Call the guy Bob who is the driver no answer.... call the main office lady picks up gives me another number to call..... no answer call her back... no answer. Moving to Texas in 3 days... not happy...... finally got a call back from Bob.... Bob is driving around Wisconsin.... I’m in Ny.... thanks Bob

The car was picked up on Tuesday morning in Phoenix and delivered Saturday morning in Illinois 60 miles north of Chicago in good condition. The transaction went smoothly from the beginning to the end. The customer service rep, Johnathan V. was capable and friendly as well as the trucking company driver.
