Waterbury Car Shipping on the Hills of the Brass City

Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Waterbury, the Brass City where I-84 and Route 8 meet at the mixmaster over the river, the clock tower stands over the old station, the hill neighborhoods climb from the valley on streets built for the mill workers’ feet, the cross on the hill lights the east side, the restored theater fills downtown on show nights, and families from Portugal, Albania, and Puerto Rico have made the city their own. Whichever hill or valley street the car leaves from, its carrier is licensed and insured and has passed our own vetting before we hand it the job.

I-84 and Route 8 cross at the mixmaster over the river, halfway between Hartford and Danbury, so a carrier on either highway reaches town without a detour. A 75-foot rig loads in the lots on Route 8 at Chase Parkway or off I-84 at Union Street, a minute from the ramp. The valley grids take the truck to the door; the steep, narrow hill streets meet it below on a wide street or at the Chase Parkway lot, agreed at booking and set down in writing, so the hand-off works whatever language your family speaks. After a nor’easter between December and March the hills clear last, and a pickup can slip. We ship for hospital hires on a start date, families moving to the city and cars headed to a son or daughter who has settled in the South.
