Door-to-door Hickory car shipping on I-40 at the foot of the Blue Ridge, with lake and ridge-road hand-offs on US-70 and driveway pickups in the valley subdivisions.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Hickory, the Catawba Valley city on I-40 an hour northwest of Charlotte, where US-321 climbs toward Boone, US-70 follows the old highway through Union Square, and the furniture plants and showrooms that made the town run along the rail line and the lake. The truck that comes for your car belongs to a licensed, insured carrier, and we check that carrier before it is ever given the load.
Carriers reach Hickory on I-40, which runs along the south side of town, and the lots by Valley Hills Mall and along US-70 have room for a 75-foot rig a short way from the US-321 and Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard exits. The valley subdivisions generally let the truck reach the driveway. North of town the ridge roads and the lanes around Lake Hickory twist and drop, and a loaded trailer cannot turn in a lakeside drive, so those cars meet the truck on US-70 or at a lot near the US-321 interchange, set when you book. We ship cars for furniture and manufacturing transfers, dealer and fleet units moving between showrooms, Lenoir-Rhyne students, and families moving into or out of the Catawba Valley.

For a move that reaches past the Catawba Valley, the North Carolina car shipping guide lays out routes across the state along with seasonal notes and prices.
Carriers on I-40 between Tennessee and the Triangle can load at a US-70 lot near the exits without leaving their route.
Foothill drives and Lake Hickory lanes get a meeting point on US-70 or at a US-321 lot, fixed when you book.
The quote calculator emails an estimate for your route, car and dates, and the price a specialist then confirms by phone is the booked figure, not an opening offer. From the first call to the delivery check, a single coordinator handles the move.
I-40 skirts the south side of town, and Charlotte is about an hour away. Your price comes down to five things:
Four of the Hickory rows are distance bands: Nashville, Columbus, Houston and Phoenix show the middle half of what customers paid for moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026. Miami is different, a one-way figure for cars coming north that reflects the middle half of our own Florida to North Carolina open-carrier orders since 2023. Cars here load in valley driveways or at the US-70 lots near I-40.
These ranges are for a sedan on an open trailer, whether it leaves a valley driveway or a US-70 lot. A work pickup, a three-row SUV or a car that will not run prices higher, and an enclosed trailer adds roughly a third. For an estimate on your own Hickory address, use the quote calculator, which answers by email, and (866) 821-4555 reaches a coordinator. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.

Please note: On the Hickory table, Nashville, Columbus, Houston and Phoenix are distance figures from moves of about the same length that customers booked from September 2025 to August 2026, while Miami follows our own open-carrier orders from Florida into North Carolina since 2023. Foothill weather and fuel can nudge the real price, and what we book is the figure a specialist confirms after the calculator’s email.
