Two Metros Joined by the Turnpike
Pennsylvania’s car-shipping map has two centers of gravity. Metro Philadelphia rides the I-95 corridor, the busiest retail auto-transport artery in the country, with daily departures north and south. Pittsburgh anchors the west at the junction of I-70, I-76, and I-79, where Midwest lanes meet the East. Between them, the Turnpike and I-80 carry the through-traffic, and towns along those roads, Harrisburg, the Lehigh Valley, State College, ride lanes the trucks already run. Erie ties into the I-90 Great Lakes corridor at the top of the state.
