Florida to Georgia Car Shipping

Our own book since 2023 holds 13 Florida to Georgia open-carrier car orders, and the middle half of them ran $600 to $850. That is a wider range than the southbound direction, and the reason is the tail: an Atlanta or Buford delivery sits at the bottom, a Mineral Bluff or Blue Ridge delivery at the top, because the last two hours into the mountains are the expensive part. Over 460 to 700 road miles it comes to a little over a dollar a mile, the price of a short lane. Enclosed transport is quoted at about a third more than the open figure; our two enclosed orders on this lane are not enough to band.

Two days to find the truck and one or two on the road. After loading, a truck leaving Fort Lauderdale or Naples on Interstate 75 can unload in Atlanta the next day, and a mountain delivery adds a day for the hand-over. Those road figures are estimates for the distance; what our file records is the assignment, not the arrival.

Interstate 75 from wherever the car starts: Naples and Tampa are on it, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation and Lauderdale Lakes cross to it on Alligator Alley, and West Palm Beach comes over on the Turnpike to Wildwood. From Lake Park at the Georgia line it is Valdosta, Tifton, Macon and the Downtown Connector into Atlanta, then Interstate 85 or Interstate 985 for Buford and Snellville, Interstate 20 for Covington, and Interstate 575 and the two-lane roads past Ellijay for Mineral Bluff. A Jacksonville or Palm Coast car is on Interstate 95 instead and reaches Savannah, Ellabell and Richmond Hill without ever seeing Atlanta.

Rarely on this lane: of the 8 car moves we have dispatched from Florida to Georgia since 2023, 1 went enclosed, a Grullon Vera GT2 from Fort Lauderdale to Snellville that sat too low for open-carrier ramps and needed a liftgate. A Porsche Panamera went from Tampa to Atlanta on an open deck, and so did a Range Rover Sport to the mountains. Fort Lauderdale is our most frequent pickup, then Naples, Tampa, Lauderdale Lakes, Plantation, West Palm Beach and Lehigh Acres, a car at a time. In Georgia, Atlanta is the most common delivery, then Snellville, Buford and Covington in the suburbs, Mineral Bluff in the mountains, and Valdosta and Ellabell in the south and on the coast. A Broward driveway or a Naples gate means meeting the driver near Interstate 75 or the Sawgrass; an Atlanta suburb takes the truck at the door; the mountains mean a hand-over in the valley.

April carried more of our Florida to Georgia bookings than any other month since 2023, and every other month in the file carried one. It is a small file, so the page will not call that a season; what it can say is that the two-day wait held in April as in December, because the trucks leaving Florida through Georgia in spring are looking for exactly this load. If you are sending a car to a summer place in the mountains, April and May are when our customers have done it; a car going to an Atlanta suburb moves in any week.

Yes, and it is the commonest non-car request on this lane: three golf carts have gone north with us since 2023, from Clermont to Dillard in the northeast Georgia mountains, from Carrabelle to Columbus, and from Orlando to Palmetto, all on open carriers.
