Door-to-door Portsmouth car shipping on I-95 at the Maine line, with the brick downtown met on Woodbury Avenue and shipyard families met outside the Kittery gate.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Portsmouth, the old port at the mouth of the Piscataqua, where I-95 crosses the river to Maine on the high bridge, the brick streets of the downtown were laid for horses and hold the restaurants now, the naval shipyard sits on its island across the river with its gates in Kittery, the old air base is a trade park with the tanker wing still flying from it, the tugboats tie up at the foot of the hill, and Boston is an hour down I-95. Whether the car leaves a brick downtown block or a lot outside the shipyard gate, we hand it only to a licensed, insured carrier we have already vetted.
Car haulers reach the city on I-95 and load at lots along Woodbury Avenue by the traffic circle, on Lafayette Road south of downtown, or at the Pease trade park, each with room for a 75-foot rig. The rig does not go into the brick downtown, so an address there meets the driver on Woodbury Avenue or at the circle, and a shipyard family meets it at a lot outside the gate in Kittery, both arranged at booking. The newer neighborhoods usually take the truck to the door, and in summer the beach traffic on I-95 decides the hand-off hour. We move cars for Navy families on orders, new hires at the trade park and the hospital, households moving up from Boston for the water, and Maine neighbors just across the bridge.
Speak with a coordinator now at (866) 821-4555 for pickup at any address in Portsmouth, Newington, Rye, Greenland, or across the bridge in Kittery, or request an estimate by email through the quote calculator.
The Seacoast is one corner of the state, and our New Hampshire car shipping guide covers the others, from the lakes to the North Country.
A loaded rig does not enter the old streets, so a downtown address gets a meeting point on Woodbury Avenue or at the circle fixed when you book, five minutes from the door.
Carriers do not enter the yard, so a Navy family on orders meets the truck at a lot outside the gate in Kittery, fixed when you book and timed to the report date, with a second car on the same order when the family has two.
Type your route, car and dates into the quote calculator and an estimate arrives by email, whether the car sits on Woodbury Avenue or outside the shipyard gate, and a specialist calls to confirm the price. One coordinator then sees the order through to the inspection at delivery, report date and all.
Seacoast quotes start from the miles between the bridge and the other end of the trip. Five things move your number:
Portsmouth's five rows are all priced by distance, not from lanes of our own. Boston and New York fall under 300 road miles and share the lowest band, Washington sits between 300 and 600, Naples between 1,500 and 2,000 and San Francisco past 2,500, and each band reflects the middle half of what customers paid for open-carrier moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
The bands describe a sedan on an open trailer. Off the Seacoast, a full-size pickup, a three-row SUV, a heavy EV or a non-running car prices above that, and enclosed transport runs about a third higher. For a bookable figure on your Portsmouth move, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
Laid for horses and full of restaurants now, and the truck meets them on Woodbury Avenue.
It sits on its island across the river with its gates in Kittery, and its cars meet the truck outside them.
The old air base holds the offices now, and the tanker wing still flies from it.
I-95 crosses to Maine on it, and dispatch treats both banks as one market.
Please note: Portsmouth figures for Boston, New York, Washington, Naples and San Francisco are distance bands, taken from open-carrier sedan moves of similar length that customers booked with us from September 2025 to August 2026. Season, fuel and the car itself can push a Seacoast quote off these numbers, and a specialist confirms the final price on a call.
