Door-to-door Kokomo car shipping on the US 31 freeway, planned around the plant-gate shift change, with employer billing and driveway pickups.
Ship A Car, Inc. arranges door-to-door vehicle transport for Kokomo, the Howard County seat an hour north of Indianapolis, where the US 31 freeway skirts the east side, US 35 crosses the middle of town, the Stellantis transmission and engine plants set the rhythm of the shifts, the opalescent glass works has poured art glass since 1888, Highland Park keeps Old Ben the steer and its giant sycamore stump, and blocks of ranch houses and bungalows hold the families who work the plants. We assign your car only to a licensed, insured carrier that has passed our vetting first.
This is a plant town, and pickups are planned around the gates. The US 31 freeway makes the city an easy stop for carriers running between Indianapolis and South Bend, and the lots on US 31 at Markland Avenue give a full-length rig room a minute off the road. Driveways across town usually take the truck, so the planning is mostly about the clock: on the plant side of town, we never book a pickup into shift change. We ship cars for plant transfers on a start date, for families sending a car to a son or daughter in the Sun Belt, and for retirees heading south for the winter.

Pickups near the plants are timed away from shift change, so the carrier never sits in the gate traffic.
Wide streets and roomy driveways let the truck reach the door at many addresses, and we tell you on the first call whether yours is one of them.
Give the quote calculator your route, vehicle and dates, and it emails an estimate for your Kokomo pickup that a specialist confirms by phone. The coordinator who answers your first call stays with the order through the check at delivery.
The US 31 freeway skirts the east side of Kokomo, an hour north of Indianapolis, on its way toward South Bend. Five things move your number:
The Kokomo table uses two sources. Sacramento is one of our own lanes, and its row is the middle half of our California to Indiana open-carrier orders since 2023, so it covers a car moving east; Columbus, Orlando, Fort Myers and Austin show what customers paid for moves of similar length in our bookings between September 2025 and August 2026.
All of the Kokomo ranges are for a sedan on an open trailer, so a pickup, an SUV or a car that does not run costs more, and enclosed transport costs about a third more. For the figure on your own Howard County route, use the quote calculator or call (866) 821-4555. No deposit is taken until a carrier is assigned to your move.
Elwood Haynes road-tested one of America’s earliest gasoline cars outside town in 1894.
Transmissions and engines from the Stellantis plants here go into vehicles built far beyond Indiana.
The works has poured art glass since 1888, and studios worldwide buy it.
A preserved 4,700-pound steer and a sycamore stump the size of a room share the park.
Please note: Kokomo’s Sacramento figure comes from our own California to Indiana open-carrier orders since 2023; the Columbus, Orlando, Fort Myers and Austin figures come from what customers paid for trips of similar length between September 2025 and August 2026. Prairie winters, fuel and the vehicle shift the final price, which a specialist confirms on the phone before we book.
