Minnesota, was unified as the 32nd state on May 11, 1858. Nicknamed as the Land of 10,000 Lakes or the North Star State, it is located most northerly of the 48 conterminous U.S. states. Minnesota has its boundary with the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario to the north, the Lake Superior and Wisconsin to the east, Iowa to the south and South Dakota and North Dakota to the west. Mountains, high plateaus, and wilderness form most of Utah’s countryside.
